GIAMBATTISTA VALLI has been awarded the couture appellation by Paris 'Fédération
Française de la Couture.
The Italian-born designer, who showed
his debut couture collection in July this year, was previously only
a guest member of the calendar. Designers are typically only given the official
appellation after they have showed couture for five years, but the Federation
decided that the standard of Valli's work made him eligible early for the
prestigious honour.
