DIOR is the
most "Liked" brand on Facebook over the past year. A tumultuous but financially successful 12 months for the label,
which saw 15-year creative director John Galliano dismissed following his arrest in Paris last February and no successor yet appointed, seems to have prompted a renewed
interest in the brand, with likes totalling more than 153,000 - more than
50,000 up on the second most liked brand, Converse.
Also up in
the last year is Louis Vuitton's Art of Travel page, which saw Likes increase
by almost 30 per cent, as well as Coach - for which Likes shot up by almost 100
per cent.
All the
brands in the top 10 are either sports brands, like Nike and Adidas, or
high-end fashion names - including Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana.
It's not
been such a great year for Burberry, whose Likes dropped almost 35 per cent -
although the label is still ahead of the game overall with more than 10 million
Facebook fans on its page. Only Adidas, with 12 million fans, and Converse,
with a staggering 21 million, are more popular.
Christian
Louboutin, Gucci and Armani all also made the top 20.
