Mulberry’s Future Fashion
MULBERRY has teamed up with the British Fashion
Council's Colleges Council to launch a competition for final
year fashion students. Entrants are asked to create a capsule collection,
incorporating leather and outerwear, based on their idea of what it means to be
British. In return, the brand will reward the winner with £2,000 to support
their design development.
"We are
thrilled to be partnering with the BFC to present the Mulberry design
competition in association with the Colleges Council," said Mulberry
creative director Emma Hill. "The competition has previously produced some
great results and we are so excited to see what the students produce for us
this year!"
Students
need to have applied by January 18 and will then be shortlisted for an
interview. BFC ceo Caroline Rush explained why the competition is so invaluable
to young designers.
"We are
pleased to be partnering with Mulberry on their design competition - this is a
great opportunity for students to showcase their talents and to celebrate
Britishness in such a monumental year," said Rush. "We look forward
to seeing what the students produce."
The
competition is open to College Council members only.
